How Learning Experiences Stimulates Your Child’s Early Childhood Development
Scientists have done a lot of research about the brain development of a child in their early years. Much of their research shows that the child’s brain connections strengthen when they have positive experiences with adults.
Babies and young children can learn through:
● Asking questions
You can either use play or a routine to encourage children to be eager and engaged in learning.
What are the learning experiences that can stimulate a child’s early childhood development?
Learning experiences in a child’s early childhood can boost their imaginations and creativity. Below are some of the activities where a child can have a learning experience and develop their cognitive abilities.
Play games involving hands
Playing games that involve hands like the following can engage a child both mentally and physically.
- Finger family
- Hand puppets
- Hand shadow play
- Handclap games
These games will catch the child’s attention and they will learn how to interact physically.
Read and sing with them
Reading and singing with your child can be an interesting activity if you let them participate in it. Singing along with happy children’s songs is amusing and fun for children and can also enhance their vocabulary. Reading can teach your child about focus, lengthen their attention span and familiarise them with new words.
Count with them
Another activity where your child can have a learning experience is by counting with them. You may do this by counting with them as they take small steps or go up and down the stairs. This is a fun way to learn numbers with your child.
Let them learn another language
According to research, children who know how to speak two or more languages are smarter than those who speak one language only. Therefore, teaching your child two languages can also stimulate their early childhood development. Doing this allows them to use the different parts of their brain.
Start with the most basic expressions. If you’re not familiar with another language, then it’ll be a great opportunity for you and your child to learn one.
